Hi guys, can anyone give me a part number, correct name or even a source for a serpentine belt tensioner stud please?
I was sat in traffic in the disco today when I heard/felt a heavy clunk and the battery light came in the dash. I thought I'd best pull onto the verge and the steering was heavy, so I instantly thought the fan belt had snapped. When opened the bonnet and found the belt was fine and the tensioner assembly dangling I checked it to find the the stud had snapped off in the block with about 2 mm recessed...
I have a nice set on stud extractors to probably make it worse, but when I do get the stud out, what do I replace it with!?
If anyone is near Taunton with said stud, then I'll happily relies you of it!
I'll also make a fan spanner to get that out of the way - does anyone know the size of the nut before I dig out my calipers?
For what it's worth, I think this stud failed because of the penny trick - I did it about 6-7 months back instead of replacing the worn pulley bearing. That's the last time I'll do that...
Thanks chaps
