Hi folks this is my first post as a classic Land Rover owner & in need of your help A.S.A.P....

My series 3 88 2.2 petrol was driving fantastically well and then I put my foot on the clutch to change gears and I put my foot on wires (previous owner wired up a volt meter oil tem gauge etc. and they were hanging down beside the peddles)
I believe I have pulled on something but cant see any wires disconnected & the fuses below the steering wheel have not blown (are there other fuses?)

The Landy was driving fine then when the wires got caught up the Landy stopped with no lights on the dash and when I turned the key there's nothing whatsoever.

I would really appreciate all help in getting my 88 fired up & back on the road.
Thank you.
Tony.

Sounds like you need to check all the connections. Could be an ignition cable gone

Check your ignition wires on the back of the key barrel previous owner probably piggybacked them so the voltmeter would work with ignition on

Oh dear - the joys of bodged landy wiring. The good news is that landy electrics are as simple as they get. Find a wiring diagram and try to restore the electrics to standard and you should be OK.

I put my jump starter pack directly onto the starter motor and it was slow but didn'tt urn over.
Is this something to do with my situation?
