Hi guys I’m having an issue with my wipers on my 83 series three restoration.

The issue I have one wiper is totally opposite the the other one so I’ve got near side wiper working perfect and parking correctly but the drivers one is at full sweep when the others parked or at the bottom. They work perfect other than one is correct and the other is totally opposite pictures as parked.

See attached pictures

I just can’t get my head round this one for some reason.

Thanks Rob.

I am no expert, but it looks to me as if you have.

1. a non matching set of wiper arms, (maybe 1 is for LHD, 1 is for RHD)
2. should you be in the other hole for you left hand wiper, where your washer is?

If you swapped the arms would the right hand 1 fit the left or would it extend over the screen?

It will be simple once you know I am sure :). Have a cuppa and wait for the experts.
Somebody will be along soon with a pic soon I am sure.

Take it when switched on both move left and then both move right?
If so then one of the wheel box's is wrong type or possible the driver side one is fitted the wrong way up.
For wipers to move in opposite ways one has to have the spiral wire pass below the spindle gear wheel.

SIII wipers sweep in opposing directions - and need opposite shaped arms. The left hand wheel box has the spiral wire on top, the right hand has the wire running underneath - someone has put one of them the wrong way up.

Hi Guys thanks for the information you were indeed correct the passenger wheel box was correct and the drivers was fitted the same as the passenger so after a bit chew on ive managed to get it swopped round and they both now work perfect thank you very much chaps for your input i just couldnt understand this one but when you realise how the worm drive works its more obvious...
