Put it this way i'm running a 9 inch clutch not a 9.5 in the offroader. all depends on abuse you give it slipping or not with a good v8 no need to slip the clutch.

Just about to mount my Trigger wheel for my EDIS 8 ignition system Megajolt here we come!

going to have to be 9.5 in mine given the R380 as the 9's were only 10 spline weren't they ?

either way will get whatever one fits, 300 9.5 sounds like the winner right now though

assuming the input shaft is the same on the R380 and LT77 just get a V8 Disco friction plate then it will all fit surley....

its not the plate its the cover thats the issue, cover on the R380 V8 is 12" thought which is too big for the R380 derv housing

but then even if you change the cover to the smaller one the plate is then too big to fit in the cover as its 10.5" IIRC, if its not when I measure up I'll just get a new cover

New welder to help with the series ;)

Ok small update time

Got a front disc braked axle from the egg coming my way in a couple of weeks, got the adaptor plate off him so I can fit that to the block tomorrow and I've bought a 300tdi clutch which I should be able to pick up on friday.

Tomorrow therefore is gearbox day! Going to take the box into the garage, get the 32mm nut undone, remove 5th gear on both shafts and fit new pinion shaft into the box then assemble!

Hopefully get the entire thing back together all going to plan as well as fit the new flywheel

I've also just acquired a Cadillac 7.2L engine.........this big block V8 will be used in a future build :D I has a plan for it ;) needs the top end putting back together with new gaskets and then I'll see if I can make up a plate to mate it to an LT95 gearbox

Checking specs on that engine I bought

Its the Dodge 440 six pack engine I think as thats the only 7.2 I can find that was in a Charger

415bhp at 4700 rpm and 480ft/lbs at 3500rpm so plenty of torque but I'd probably put in a cam thats better at low revs

Thats way to high up the rev range, Ive recently bought a RAV4 for the Missus.
177hp 400nm (295ft/lb) the only thing is I cant find it, it just makes naff all power till 3000 revs and is a bitch to drive, she wont drive the bloody thing so it will have to go, maybe get her a gaylander.

Well considering the Rover 3.5 is

169 hp at 5,200 rpm and 210 lb/ft at 2,600 rpm the Caddy blows it out the water! I'll be fitting a high torque cam anyway
