We're slightly behind schedule on this  stupid bell housing won't fit over the V8 clutch so I've had to get Rob to post me back my old flywheel drilled for a 9" clutch.

On the plus side I've got the pinion machined down and its having a hardening sleeve put on it. This only cost a tenner too :D good price for some machine work :D

Hell we knew it would be behind schedule nothing new there. Chunky where is my money:D :hysterically_laughi:hysterically_laughi

Well erm as it happens. Well spent on some high tech wizardry for new home.

Pinions ready and waiting with a speedi sleeve installed to make sure it doesn't wear but the cnuts at city link still haven't delivered my flywheel  Robb's chasing it up for me but this is taking the ****!

Never use city link for anything you need on time

When has a time line come into play on this project:pound: Look how long it has taken what is another day or 2 on a 18 month project. Just be patient :pound::pound::pound:

Times come into play now that I need it ready for feb! we're only on 14.5 months now anyway ;)

But he paid for 48 hours and we're now on at least 90!

sweet :D free postage haha not bad on a 25kg flywheel

Can you explain why you would lighten it? I always thought a heavier flywheel was better or is that just for very slow revving engines?

Lighter means it can rev up faster, heavier means it has more rotational momentum though

Its why race cars have super light flywheels!

5KG off your flywheel in first and second gear is the same as loosing 100KG of you car when talking lap times

Ah that makes sense! I guess they have to be heavier for slower engines to keep them turning over, makes sense :)

It's horses for courses, in slow speed off road situation heavier is better, stops your engine stalling when you put a wheel in a hole etc but when you want to accelerate fast the less rotating mass the better.
