Hi,

I'm fairly new to this forum and although I've been into Land Rovers for a while this is the first chance I've had to have a proper "old school" series 3.

However, it is RUSTY! :(
The box sections of the chassis are literally crumbling away. Should I just scrap it and find a better one or is it worth saving? The bodyshell isn't so bad, the two front wings look fairly new although the driver's door is rotted.

sounds like a right scrapper I'll take it off yer save yu a trip to the scrap yard.

That bad, eh? :(

A mate reckoned I should find something like a Daihatsu Fourtrak, remove the bodyshell and drop the Series 3 shell over the Daihatsu's chassis. I can't help but think this defeats the whole object of having a Series 3

nooo red is taking the ****,send it to me instead, put some pictures up and we will tell you if its worth saving, most are new galvanised chassis are available from richards, marshland and designa chassis

Ah, I see! ;)

I don't have a digital camera but I'll see if I can get a friend to take some photos and upload them - I can't be doing with all this new-fangled uploads downloads malarkey!
