its registered as a series 3 TDI yes.

i do have coiler diffs, along with 235/85 tyres and an overdrive. road speed is 146.3% of indicated speed haha

how does it pull though?
the only reason i worry about it mechanically is not being as "zippy" as it is now as i have the larger long wheel base wheels aswell, with the diffs its going to be gutless without the turbo id of thought? would have to do turbo and diffs i think :)

i think eventually im definetly going to put the turbo on, will probably do a load of jobs at the same time,

diffs
turbo
rebuild swivels
always a list of jobs! :D

i get what you mean. before i crashed, i had the standard height tyres on it, and the coiler diffs and overdrive. was about perfect, but could just do with another half gear even with overdrive.

with the taller tyres its perfect for cruising and fine for everything. it has just lost its performance edge. but it will still out accelerate a 1.6 eurobox. the only trouble comes when setting off with a fully loaded trailer up a hill. doesent really like it anymore but you can set off, if not setting off in low and changing up isnt too hard :)

its my birthday, now i wonder who these could be for?? :D  actually 3 years today ive owned her now :D

will be bolting and riveting these on soon then!

still a few more bits and pieces to do this weekend :D

Looks and sounds very heathy. It's a credit to you.

(modern wobbly camera work made me feel a bit ill though)

didnt notice til i watched the vid, is that a 2 1/4 exhaust poking out behind the wheel?

yes its a 200di at the moment, eventually want to put the turbo on but thats way in the future! haha

yes its the original 2.25 system completely, even the manifold is the original, it works brilliantly :D

when you get a turbo on it. see if you can get a 2.5"bore exhaust. thats the standard size for a TDI and chokes the engine a lot less. otherwise the turbo will struggle to spool up quickly and youll also loose top end boost.

theres actually quite a science to exhausts. but basixally if you have no turbo you want a bit of backpressure. and if you have a turbo you want backpressure before the turbo (enigne side) but as freeflowing as possible after the turbo. as then it can spool up properly

im just waiting to be able to afford the stuff to do it and also be able to fabricate my own exhaust :D

so straight through after the turbo then, sounds like a plan :D

i put a straight pipe on a couple of weeks ago, so no silencers at all! sounded completely stupid, like stupidly attention seaking loud! i guess no back pressure at all really, put the silencer back on straight away afterwards, but it was worth a play :D

Well, roughly a year on now since i finished the build, doesnt feel like it mind you! Anyway just thought you guys would probably enjoy some photos, and will be pleased to know she is still around, not going anywhere! .. getting looked after... but still doing exactly what she was built for... enjoy! :D

Great photos. Pleased you're having fun with it. I'm sure I came across your rebuild whilst searching for something on the Paddocks site? I was in a hurry so didn't read it....at least at a glance I thought it was your Landy.
Looks to be in great condition a year on! :)
