Thanks everyone I think this information has confirmed its most likely a Zenith copy.
The next step now would be to fit a Weber?

I think a Weber will be ordered shortly. Any where you recommend getting a kit from? Once fitted I can then get someone to tune it and check the timing.Better start saving up!
That's why we bought a new Webber for £120.FULLY RESTORED ZENITH 36IV CARBURETTOR WITH FUEL PUMP | LAND ROVER SERIES 2, 2A & 3 - Classic Carbs UK

I can't recommend anywhere as I just kept an eye out on Ebay, once again keep an eye out for fakes.I think a Weber will be ordered shortly. Any where you recommend getting a kit from? Once fitted I can then get someone to tune it and check the timing.
Best of if you go and introduce yourself and then start a thread of your own in a relevant place, otherwise it will get lost in here and no one will see itApologies for jumping on this post, im new to this site, i desperatly need advice,
I got a rally good 2.8 Daihatsu Turbo diesel to put in my landrover series 3, got the adaptor plate, but before i take the old 2.5 NA out which has come to the end of its life could anybody enlighten me please on the work that will be required to do the engine mounts or is it a straight drop in and place the 2.5 na engine mounts on the engine, im aware i have to adjust the exhaust
Thank you

Viscosity close enough but rumour has it that should use GL4 rather than GL5 as it can affect the bronze bits over timeNeed some of that! I use TOTAL gear oil 85W 90 as it's the closest I can get here in Kenya.
Nop! It's pretty much 'import' what you need. We have a cool system which is fast and affordable. Those who consolidate items into a container rather than 'container specific' get away with murder! I air freight or sea freight. Bulky items by sea as it's cheaper per kg. It works out well for me because I buy what I need and get cracking! No BS!! No import customs BS either. Just pay per kg and be done with itHi JIMBOB LR
Do you find parts easy to find in Kenya? I saw lots of people using the 85w90 supposedly easier to get off the shelf.
....Kenya is madness at it's best! I always try my best to keep to standards and requirements. Maintenance is key no matter what you drive. It will be good this time. No leaks from the transfer case or main box.Viscosity close enough but rumour has it that should use GL4 rather than GL5 as it can affect the bronze bits over time
