I recommend you download the full manuals and parts list from the web - much better than the Haynes.
pdf Land Rover Manuals | Landroverweb.com

You can buy all the correct coloured wiring from vehicle wiring products. I recommend keeping with the correct colours - because the next time you look at it will make sense. Nothing worse than peering at a collection of randomly coloured wires from a previous owners handiwork!

If you don't already have one, a gas soldering iron will make life much easier. Good luck!

That's the joy of an ex mod Landy. No confusion cause everythings yellow

Is it a std Landrover or ex MOD as stated,

I have an old S3 dash panel in the loft with all the wiring on it...can take a picture later if it helps.

watch with the manual though, check the date of the wiring diagram. Took me forever to work out my wiper motor was a one speed not 2 as shown in the diagram (which i then found out to be from 1981)

There are looms available...I bought one, by the time you've bought all the right colored wire and bodged all the lamp holders on its probably not worth the effort unless you're just fixing up rather than replacing. As stated above download the workshop pdfs and spend a while getting familiar with it all...

hi mate its a standard series 3 short wheel base diesel land rover,
all of the wires were pulled out of the back of the dash were the clocks are and the switches and i cant put them back right from the haines manual
so if you could take any pictures of yours just to show me how they go or are you willing to sell your clocks and switches because mine ant that good anyway
many thanks
Hank.
