Hi All,
Paddocks are selling a door sill (AJL710020} so i phoned them today to see if it will fit my series 3 1988 landrover, i was told it was for a defender.
So i looked up my manual to get another number, and i found (330380) which turns out to be obsolete.
The one paddocks are selling looks very close, but the guy on the other end of the phone said "he has no mechanical knowledge"
So here i am asking if anyone has used the defender sill on there series 3 landrover

regards

No. But I can't see they are going to be different. S3 and Ninety/One Ten bodies are pretty similar. The axles are wider, hence the wheel eyebrows, so the wheels don't stick out from under the body.

Is that the sill with the seal that the floor bolts to, or the body work sill? I can't remember the part no.s, and too lazy to get up and look in the book...be fair, its in the other room.

If the body work one, have a look at sp landrovers, they have them, and pretty much the same price. They might have the floor/door sill too, I didn't look for them at the time.

i've seen the (structural) sill rail for sale somewhere, galvanised. need to try and think where. would be YRM, or sp4x4 or bits4landy, or pegasusparts

I bought my galvanised steel U sill channels from YRM Metal and the outer bodywork sills from SP Landrover. Good news was that they fitted fine...At least they did 4 years ago.

Think the bit under the door is the same but the bit that fits to the front wing is slightly longer so don't think that will fit and the bit that fits the rear wing I'm not sure about as I can't remember if they are the same or not

Big ruddy help you are :D:D:D:D:D:D

I didn't know 3s had a sill, apart from a bit of angle and the external strip of brimmerbright.

I will need a set of these as well. You should see the state of mine  I do wonder some times if I am just trying to see if it possible to post an entire landy.

Apparently back in the day one of the chaps on the range rover production line was stealing a classic rangie, one piece at a time. He had 2/3's of a complete vehicle at home.

I guess he had to if made it out the gate with some fairly large parts, the mind boggles. :D
