The only blasphemy is that abortion of a badge on the back. :) However nice looking car, needs some different wheels but you are blessed with factory fit sports seats, gsm phone, glass sunroof (quite rare actually) most are steel and a CD changer look like that old girls options :)

Aye - the badge is pure idiocy - gonna replace it with a wee saltire :)

Sunroof is fooked, but this is a keeper and will get it sorted eventually. Wheels are original spec, but agree that staggered alloys with more diameter and harder edges would be better - as long as they're OEM and not ned spec. All that stereo gear is coming out to be replaced with a DAB radio with USB input. Might not look quite as good but will sound a hell of a lot better. Got to have Radio 6.

I decided that a reliable V8 with 280hp and great handling trumped the ability to drive over bumpy stuff - so got an old BMW 540i Touring instead :p

Thanks for all your input guys, it's appreciated - hope I haven't committed some kind of blasphemy

Iconic shape, always fancied one or an 8 series but rwd v8 and my missus don't mix, and I can't do without a 4wd shed.

The biggest downside to running the BMW is the lack of support from people like you. In BMW forum land the stock answer is "take it to the dealer", "take it to a guy". None of these feckers fix their own cars :(

Jag forum is the same, only answers you get is if you ask "what polish do you use".

Don't think I ever posted but got some answers from bimmerforums in the past. Probably on diff ratios or spring ratings since I have an rv8 and lt77 in it.
Bought the coil overs and strut braces from www.automac.co.uk. very helpful guy. Think he has something to do with a BMW magazine

I too have had little success on BMW forums for my 7'er's.....

I am not into modding to any degree so as far as they are concerned my posts are of little interest to them!

Only thing I struggle with is finding parts other than BMW or ebay......most indy suppliers only deal in pathetic 'performance' upgrades and chavtastic body kits!

I think that's a bit unfair, some forums are a bit more "scene" than others but quite a few contain alot of technical information and knowledgeable people. Often you find people have produced how to videos with stuff on BMWs and as for parts, chavtastic is the norm sadly. Hard to find OEM bits, I think its because people keep them to return to stock after they have finished with the car.
