MOT history says all is mostly well.

Know nothing of engine failure details but have a spare !!

Would be rare for a TD4 to destruct unless turbo has caused run away.

Paid about the price of tyres on it so worth a shot.

do let us know it looks decent on first eye inspection, might be something really silly.

Hope you can get it back on the road easily.

But there's plenty of reasons why a TD4 might be knackered.

I'd have thought a snapped crank would be much more likely that a run away.

If its not been looked at by a mechanic, it might be the starter motor needs replacing!

Have a good spare engine in stock so not too worried. If a garage have written the engine off I am more hopeful it isn't too bad !

Love the finding out bit ! I'll extract what info I can but have a feeling the seller is not the owner who would know about the failure.
