Hi All,

Well I have pondered what to say if anything. But I sold my P38 a few weeks ago. I wanted to say thank you to the great people on here who helped and commented and talked me through air suspension, rolled pins and clutches, BeCM redoing and fuel injection pumps. My favourite car I have ever owned and taking it to Norway a couple of times was just magic.

Why? Well I couldn't get her to run smooth after a FIP change: turned out to be the powerbox......... Also though the paint work was tired and the Mrs hated it as it had broken down three times on holiday.........

What did I replace it with, a 2005 BMW X5, right price reasonable mileage and (perhaps) it will be easier to get fixed when in Europe??? If I can do a few more European trips in her then I guess that will be that (Norway, Spain, Italy). It is the cleanest car without any marks and an immaculate interior. Mrs loves it. So far done door handles, Cv boots, tyres and tracking. Recently serviced and pondering the gearbox oil but probably will.
Why sad? The chap I sold (not much more than scrap value) the P38 to has jumped the timing chain...... I believe he is looking at putting in another engine and getting it resprayed. I have offered to help fit a new timing chain and do the head but he wants to change the whole engine.

Any way that is the story of my P38 and might still have it if I could get spares on Island easy and didn't have a sloping drive............

Will pop some spares in the for sale part.

Good call on the gearbox oil. iirc, that's what went went my cousin had an X5.
