yep,no chassis derived vehicles anymore.it costs less to produce the range rover than the defender...you do the maths...

Got to say objectively that I am all for the current advances in both driver, passenger and pedestrian safety and even loving my beast as I do I can see its no longer a vehicle that fits modern safety standards.

At the end of the day its a company. .its there to make a profit. .not pander to our geeky obsession. Ive owned mine for 13 years and hope to keep her till im too old to climb in her....why the #### should LR take my views into account. .im not gonna make them any money am I.

The way I see it is yes it is sad....but unless you get that thing that makes fenders so special you never will and emotions won't triumph over finances. So buy them now, treasure them, watch them appreciate in value, watch them become true classic cars and rejoice in being able to be an owner of one

Look what jeep did with the wrangler.

Updated it, modernized it but kept it as a jeep.

Separate chassis, live axles, basic hose out interior, easily modified and actively encouraged.

It gives the jeep brand credibility.
