Have you had an infra red temp sensor on the thermostat housing to see if it really is getting to hot before wasting your money????

bought a infra red sensor. Various pics below showing readings from various places with the dial reading and then with the heater on

If you are going to use one of those , make sure you read the instruction manual and understand about the emissivity and the cone of reading / distance / area.

I prefer a surface touch probe, gives more accurate results.

The IR ones are great as a comparison against measured known good results. ie Preventative maintenance checks.

Alt output. 13.3 idle 13.95 revs

Regulator output hovers between 10.0 and 10.3

You to far away from the point at which your trying to measure...around the thermostat housing area in a good start.
