Final photos from the trip. The car is soon to make it's way into a container and heading off to Asia to start a nice long (hopefully successful) drive back to the uk.

Salt road in the empty quarter.

Half a meter either side was firm sand. A quick lesson in reading the dunes and finding the right route.

Camping at the Saudi border. We're just at the bottom of the dune.

Something so special about taking a defender through the wild

Never ever hit the breaks before a downhill.

Tried out the rear annex to the RTT. Have to say it's won me over. Took a while to get it going but it's good when it's up.

5 days in the desert and then we reached the coast.

Legal to drive on all the beaches here and they have endless beaches to explore!

End of each day we tried to get high as it was hot, 44c And plenty of humidity.

Our set up.

At first it was a cool to see so many camels but in the end we were sick of having to stop every few kilometres and brush them out of the way.

Drive anywhere you want to in Oman. See something interesting then go explore.

Some might say the car is blocking the view. But I think the view is better this way.

Muddy roads.

If you live in the remote parts of the country there is not a lot to do but muck about with cars. YouTube hagwallah if you want to see.

Turtles coming onto the beach and laying eggs just below where we were camping.

Not a lot of the old history survives the weather but the ones that do are worth a look.

Amazing roads leading high into the mountains.

Don't park your car under a tree. The goats climb up on the bonnet to reach the berries.

Don't think I will be lucky enough to live somewhere that you can just go and explorer with this much freedom ever again.

It's illegal in Oman to drive a dirty car. So just before getting back to civilisation a quick clean in a stream.
