that site looks like it might be 'SE88's work
( LZ member )
if so .. i have one .. and can recommend it
( bought when he initially sold a batch on these pages )
be a straight-thru design .. makes a good sound .. 'n not overly loud ..
helps the turbo get going as well .. :)

That sounds promising. Does this guy SE88 work for mansfield 4x4 ?

It does look like an SES88 tail box. I fancied one of the first batch myself. However having a V6 at the time, I didn't think it would dampen the distinctive noise signature of the engine enough. I didn't want the Freelander to sound like my modified SZ180, so a passed on the smaller box.
I'm thinking about getting one of those for my TD4 though.

The lift kit on the same page looks like another SES88 item too.

You have to log on to see posts/threads etc - but if you PM him it will also email him to say there's a message so he will see it - unless that's turned off in his settings.

I don't want to butt in on dwalsh1's thread but this is related.
Nodge, (or anyone else) can you recommend a decent, not too loud, stainless silencer for the V6?

Just spoke to Mansfield 4x4. Apparently SE88 (Simon I think he said) used to supply them but don't anymore. He wasn't selling to many by all accounts and stopped supplying them. Mansfield supply their own.

What you fit would depend on what spec Freelander V6 you have. If you have a US spec with 2 cats and down pipes , then you could go for a muscle car style twin pipe setup;)

I wonder how the quality of this new box compares the SES88 version?
I suspect that the picture is of the original supplied by Simon.

I was thinking the same. I've sent him a PM and hopefully he answers. I'll give him a few days. If anyone knows him personally can you let him know I was asking about him. Thanks. Dennis

I do have a North American spec but would prefer just a straight swap SS backbox. I haven't seen any advertised over here so it could be no-one makes them.
You don't see many Hippos on the roads here anymore. I see one or two a week where I live.

The NAS FL1 has a completely different exhaust system to all other FL1s. I think you could remove the standard rear silencer (muffler) and replace with a straight through item. It's not difficult to do, but I don't think you'll gain much by doing so. A complete twin pipe system with 2 straight through silencers is the way to go ;)
