Lack of coolant circulation. It is going around the engine and heater matrix via the bypass system but not through the radiator. I have a new waterpump on the way to see if that cures it. :mad:

oooh. look what I found heffs?:D
YouTube - Disco getting a helping hand

Could the bypass system be at fault?

Gee, THANKS for the reminder with the youtube vid, Zan79 wants to add that she thought it was perhaps elephants that never forget - not rodents :p :p :D

My missus also had a blonde moment watching it;
'TUFFTEE's back on the road?' she says,
followed by: 'Ratty's not got an orange Landy anymore',
forgetting that this was months ago :rolleyes:

The bypass system is a valve on the thermostsat that opens at 1500rpm instead of with the temperature. I already have a new thermostat in. As the coolant is only going around the engine and not through the radiator and past the bypass valve there are only 3 things it can be. Thermostat, Radiator or water pump.

I am trying to find a 1 1/4" Y connector that I can use to replace the thermostat to eliminate this. I have bought a new water pump (just waiting for it to arrive). The radiator was flowing fine when I last tested it a couple of months back.

A blonde moment? More like memory loss.;) :p :p :p
