I just sprayed dinitrol cavity wax inside the chassis, left to set and sprayed in more cavity wax.i used omnicote on the chassis outer.this dries black as a primer as in the pics of my chassis I posted earlier.will re do this year and apply a finish coat of gloss black chassis paint.
I would recommend a compressor from Aldi, very good value for money, have had mine some 8 years and used for Disco, tractor and spraying fence still going strong. Pressure washed the underneath the took the disco for a 100 mile drive on a warm day, nice & dry for the waxoyl, job done.

So. I am still no finished paining the chassis. My concept of the perfect chassis paint job is gone. The warmer weather is ariving so I am going to have a look tomorrow as to the condition of the areas that I have painted already and see how well the primer has survived under the chassis.
I did bite the bullet and got a mig welder but I am still rubbish at welding so just doing little non stuctural, bits on the car eg exhaust hangers, etc.

Just checked the condition of the zinc primer and it is not too bad. it has come away in some places however the bulk of it is still there. Today I welded up the narrow box section on the chassis where the side steps are (one side)/ Going to mastic the new metal and then do the other side whilst the warm weather is here. The rear step was completely corroded so I have cut that off and kept it as a long term project.
Silver chassis paint purchased. I have come to the conclusion that the car will rust whatever and it is just controlling the rust which is important.
