But, if it is indeed overheating, he should be loosing some coolant from the header tank, as it boils and expands. How can the gauge read hot and the coolant level remain steady ?

datatek just run car up to temp, with engine idling can stop viscus fan by hand does this mean its nackerd would your fan mod help,i now i need to fix o ring which i will be doing soon.

The pressure escapes from the leak.

OK, the viscous fan is knackered, you still need to do the "O" rings but PM me with an email address and I will send you the mod.
If you leave the "O" rings you will pay with a knackered BECM sooner or later and that will cause you all sorts of grief.
