The rubbing strips on my disco have silver inserts that have lost their colour, do they come out ? can I replace or paint them ? thanks..

You can buy replacements on ebay.
I recently replaced mine for less than £100.

chrome wheel paint works if you use plastic primer first but it is hard to get a decent original looking finish. You can buy adhesive backed silver inserts for most black plastic bumpers. If you are able to peel the original strips off then these may fit back in the space.
