Hiya all

Went for a drive the other night and I have noticed the cruise control is now not working all of a sudden?

The master switch is on but when pressing the buttons on the steering wheel nothing happens at all...

Could this be as simple as a fuse or relay seeing as it was working perfectly before?

Any advice would be great

Are we talking about a Classic or a P38 ??????

Usual suspect on either model is the rubber vaccum hose splitting, especially around the bellows area under the bonnet or where it fits onto the combination brake pedal switch. You can sometimes just cut the split end off and remake the connection.
On the Classic, another cause is the Rotary Coupler which is a ribbon cable located in a plastic cassette directly behind the steering wheel, the wire(s) tend to break after time and a replacement cassette is the answer.
There is a comprehensive check procedure for the P38 in RAVE which will pinpoint the problem.

Unless it's a Diesel P38, in which case the Cruise Control is electronic and run from the engine ecu.

Don't want to be "Racist" and upset all the "Truckers" out there !!!

It's been a while since I had my Classic and I don't recall there being a "Master Switch" as is the case with the P38.......I may be wrong though !!!!

It is indeed a Classic, the switch is on the main cluster of buttons to the right of the stereo

This goes on and off OK

I am going to look into it a little later and tell you my findings :)
 
As previously mentioned. splits in hoses, cassette in steering wheel , split in vacuum bellows , but also check switch under brake pedal. I lifted the pedal up slightly on mine , and it started working again !

It's the brake light switch. It serves two purposes, an electrical switch and also a vent valve for dropping the cruise control out. The rubber hose comes through the bulkhead from the engine bay and fits onto a stub pipe moulded on the switch body. The switch is operated directly by the brake pedal.
