It's just that yesterday, no alternator and starts, today refitted and won't start. Tightened up pas and alternator belt. Didn't touch another thing. Can anyone confirm that non of the wiring from the alternator could effect power to the fuel pump etc?
Is it possible to flood an EFI?

Oh yes, if an EFI doesn't fire quite soon after initial cranking, the injectors will fire nice mists of petrol onto the tops of the cylinders. This nicely de-oils out the bores of the engine making it even harder to start as you have just got rid of the lubrication to the piston rings. Plugs then get wet with petrol and your flooded. Remove all plugs for 10 mins, dry them with a towel and try again foot flat to the floor on the accelerator.

If your not getting spark you will still have flooded it so give it a bit of time and check all the dizzy and coil connections. Crank it with the king lead out and close to an earth point to see if you get a spark. Clean dizzy cap internals and flood it with WD40 (or similar) then wipe off excess. Next thing is to pull a plug, hook up the HT and earth it to the block to look for a spark when cranked. Should give you a good idea of if/where your issue is. Check HT leads for splits etc... I was told recently that the Hotwire motors like all ignition components to be tip top which is why I had to fork out for a new coil, leads, plugs, rotor arm and cap just before I sold mine!

Oh soz, just saw you fixed it! : )
