the T engine will mate directly with the 2 litre diesel gearbox enabling you to keep 4wd, if you keep the standard rover gearbox which is regarded as ****e you will end up 2wd only,
 
wot do yu mean by the "standard" Rover Box?

I thought the 220Turbo had a Thorsen LSD fitted (but only 2Wd tho).


Cud yu fit the Thorsen to the Hippo box?
 
the rover box out of the donor car, oh dear have i messed up on my generalisation, lsd is in the diff, not too much problem, but gearboxes have been, they were better wiyhout lsd
 
k's to t's are quite common in the rover world, so shouldnt be an issue, just mounts and loom, there is a bloke called glynn on rovertech that will convert looms for you!

Is the V6 better known for eating IRD's and diffs? Thats 170bhp roughly i think, and if they aren't known for eating them more than the TD4 for example, i shouldn't have thought there'd be a problem. Just drive it nicely :D

Personally, i'm aiming more towards V6 figures with my K series now.

Standard V6 Freelander 5dr does 0-60 in 10.1 seconds with the mandatory automatic gearbox.

Liking the idea of a donor car (Rover 220 turbo) boosting the 'Sport' TD4 Freelander which has got lowered shocks and fat tyres yet sounds like a Transit van.
The V6 sounds lovely. The 220 Turbo engine has no torque benefit over the V6 but does gain 23bhp.

Here's a comparison of the engines:

Freelander V6 24v: 240 Nm/177 lb-ft torque & 174 bhp
Rover 220 Turbo 16v: 232 Nm/171 lb-ft torque & 197 bhp

reliability, the v6 ****'s itself also depending on the version of 2.0turbo lump you fit massive hp possible
 
wot he sed~^^^^^^^^^^^^ the KV6 is just basically just two K series lumps welded together - has just as many HGF's as the 1.8.
The "T" series (with Klinger head gasket and oil way mod) is as strong as an ox - figures in excess of 300BHP are (relatively) easy to achieve.
 
If I remember the 620ti model had weak pistons but the early 820 lumps=amazing
