Guys thinking of swapping the doors on my defender for series style...for numerous reasons.

Only thing is I am not 100% in love with the standard series door tops for my own Defender.

Been looking for alternatives...Military just too hard to find.

So have spotted the Rocky Mountain ones...they certainly look like they would suit my Defender nicely but the price is enough to make me choke!!!

Seen a few comments about them - all seem very positive.

But just wanted to put the question out there once again...are they really worth the high price of over £300 once delivery is added? I assume they must be very good quality?

I'm really considering them and thinking of ordering some tonight.

Ill have your old ones if there ok;)

Hi mate - I will get the replacements on first then if your seriously interested I will email you a few photos - they need repaired. I just haven't got time to mess about with them- its my work vehicle as well as my everyday vehicle.

Very much stiffer and allround good fit have fitted several sets over the years never had any trouble never painted them either 👍👍👌

In the photos they look a bit more chunky and modern than the standard series ones which I quite like for my Defender - going to order them up tonight then for sure! Just cant get my head around the cost!!! Going to eat up a large slice of my budget!!!

Yeh but think how many sets of standard ones you would buy in the life of ur lanny looking at it that way and they are cheep plus have a good resale value should you decide to sell them on 👍👍👍😄😄😄

I have them fitted to my 90 and am very pleased with them, they are made from a welded Aluminium extrusion which forms the main frame, with aluminium extrusions for the window runners, lined with rubber glass tracks, fitted with Stainless screws, the studs that go through the door top are also stainless. They do not flap about like Standard Series ones. Being able to open either the front or back section, or both gives different ventilation options. A pair of these cost pretty much the same as tired Military tops, RM should outlive the truck......I would use them again without a second thought.......they are what LR should have done......

considering a military pair with a cracked frame went for £220 last night on ebay :0 ... £300 seems a bargain

cheers steve

Whats really quite impressive is the packaging system RM uses with specific polystyrene foam cartons onside a specific cardboard box for the tops - ****part would be slung in a box with a bit of paper or polystyrene chips for protection (or not).......

Defo will do. Ordered yesterday...due tomorrow. Have ordered lower doors etc from splandrovers. Once all here will take some photos.

love my RM tops. no regrets with them at all. Much better than my knackered defender doors. Got mine attached to some SPlandrover series door bottoms for defender and it works great. doors have never shut so well!

Ha!!!My Landy looks like a barn find compared to yours...although to be fair its an everyday working vehicle!

Yeah they look good - ordered the bottoms and other bits from splandrovers myself. Well priced and only a tenner postage to N Ireland.

at this distance your quite right lol :beer2:

Door tops arrived - Yes they are very very slick.

I actually think there is something 'modern' about them. Can't place my finger on it but its a positive.

Nice green tinted glass and anodised frame.

I wont be painting these...too cool looking as they are.

If I'm honest I still think they are overpriced.

But this is one of those few occassions when I am quite happy to have spent too much as I now see why people rave about them.

Anybody considering them...until something similar comes along at a better price I would have to say...just suck it up and buy them.

Cant take pics yet as have been banned from house with them!!! Will take some when fitting.
