This is my spare, which is a 7.50/16 road tyre, right?

I prefer the look of the off-road versions ... But I assume this one will give a better/safer ride on the motorway, be fuel efficient, last longer?
That looks like a Michelin Latitude, which is a standard fitment, mostly Road biassed. They're fine, roll well and aren't too noisy.

It's a Michelin Latitude Cross, which is not exactly a road tyre, but more so than the tyres I'm actually using which are Michelin O/R. The former has a slightly better fuel efficiency rating and is quieter ... Maybe I'll just go for whichever is cheaper at the time :)

I'm currently using 265/75 r16 but will be going with 285/75/r16 for my next set of tyres.

Cooper AT3's are my rubber of choice.

Better ground clearance and better stability when cornering... what's not to like.
