I have a 2002 TD6, My right dip beam headlight keeps flashing brighter for a few times, then I get the warning on the dash to check dip beam, when I do, its gone out

If I turn the lights off then on again, it works again, till it starts flashing again 5-10 min Later and goes out

Its not the bulb as I have 4 and it does the same with them all.

Could it be the light control module, or the xenon controller on the back of the headlight ?

Thanks

Is it possible to swap xenon controller with other side?
Any codes stored?
No experience of xenon light issues just where I would start looking, prob with codes first as that may give more info

Put a replacement Controller on the headlight, still same, so have bought another light control module, 2nd one in a year

now I have changes the LCM and the ballast resistor on the back of the light and it is still flashing bright then goes out, turn lights off then on and its working again

Any help would be appreciated

No fault codes at all. I can hear a relay type noise from the headlights. What is that. Also where are the headlight relays

have checked the wiring for loose connection. All ok

Update. Changed the internal ignighter. The ballast resistor and the light control module. And the right light is still flashing bright then goes out.

many ideas anyone ?

I have played with all the wires going to the light. Pulling pushing. Dos not flicker in the slightest. madbrit

I have bought another headlight in a desperate attempt as could be loose site inside the light. Even though I did look when I had it apart to change the Igniter

Having take the headlight apart, can someone tell me what the flap is for that partly covers the dip light when main beam activated ?

On many cars there is a single light source with a 'flap' that comes down to change the cut off for 'dipped' beam.. that's why cars appear to flash as they drive down the road
