Hi all,;)
I want to take out old standard disco radio/cass, and put in a cd-radio, can i just plug in a standard disco cd-radio, i have a 1997 r-reg 300 tdi, the radio is at the top of the dash. :D

The existing radio will almost certainly have "ISO" plugs on the wiring so ANY std DIN-sized radio CD will fit and work.

BTW 'DIN-sized' - that's the normal rectangular shape most radios come in.

Thanks, thats good news, can you tell me will the volume controls on the dash still work,

hi fella do a search ............ im sure i seen something about buying a special little device which also fits on the back of the radio to allow you to use the controls on the dash ..........

thanks, will search ............ the net

At my local car bits place, when I bought my radio CD I was offered a small black box to include the remote controls. Trouble was the Radio CD was 89€, black box was 49€.

For me it was a tough choice - no more remote controls !!!!

what if i'm put a landrover cd-radio in, will it work the same with the volume controls. thanks

Don't know for sure, but a better chance.

The question that's in my mind is where would you get a LR radio/cd from. I only ask because if it's from a more modern vehicle it could well have a different sort of electronic control to operate the car and then it wouldn't work.

i went to landrover on saturday and enquired about just an ordinary radio cassette they quoted me £620.00 robbing bastids

I bought a Panasonic Radio CD for my car. It cost 89€uros and it has the socket on the front for an MP3 player !!

Installed in 5 mins. Works a treat too.

Put a sony in mine £115 but has 1GB flash memory for MP3 etc, wish I has spent a bit more and got one with blue teeth though. Recently hooked it up to the rear sub and it sounds superb and a great improvement on the original.
