Yeah.... I see from the old one it's easy to turn, it didn't occur to me the new one would be too stiff and jam the screw gear and camshaft.they have 2 slots on the shaft 1 been deeper than the other, they should turn easily by hand
why dont you check old one out it might just need vanes reversing ie worn side to the center and a new o ring
is one way valve on top working
Just set all the timing marks up to point at the pointers, that's all I did the 2 times I have had an engine totally to bits

plug for timing pin is at the top of bellhousing drivers side ,you can use mar on crank pulley
Yeah,,but without an EP mark on the flywheel.. How can I tell when I'm at EP?timing is set at ep ,that is when pump and cam should align also
