Have had a little play in Photoshop; looks quite nice in my opinion.

That did cross my mind; would then probably buy a second hand one, give it a good clean and spray it. That way I could just change it back if it looked crap.

Have just added the headlight surrounds; this is what it would look like:
I thought it would look nice; but looking at it now, I'm not entirely sure

Looks ok but ah'd be tempted to spray it satin black mesel'... or paint thum all ( grille and light surrounds) with the same colour.
If ye're goin' to paint thum, use an acrylic based primer which is suitable for plastic
