When you press the lock button on the remote, does the red LED light? If not could just be a dodgy button on the remote. Have you tried the key 2 remote to see if that is the same??

Mines a bit dodgy some times i have to get really close to the car. im going to try the batteries.

Have you tried one of those fob kits off fleabay. new batts &buttons and seals.

Anyone else tried these??

re sync the remote with the car (search for procedure)

Procedure seems to vary between years. On mine at least I found that I have to use the key in the ignition then lock and open the doors from the drivers side with the key before it successfully re-syncs, which is not the procedure I found! Although if your fob locks the doors, then I don't think it will be a sync problem as in my experience the fob does nothing at all when it isn't synched.

The aerial is in the drivers side rear most window area, so try using it next to that window and it will be a reasonable indication of if the batteries are dying or not. When changing the batteries, if you don't manage it within a minute then you've got to resync the fob again!

if the sync fails, strip the lock mech down, twiddle the bits inside, clean the contacts on the multiplug. re grease ans put it all back together

thx guys, got it sussed, the fobs come apart inside, ordered a new one,120 quid,o well no more trouble with that side of it.i hope.
