Hi I am considering buying a reconditioned VCU and bearings from freelander-spares-uk .... via ebay ........ is this outfit any good and mores the point do their VCU's perform. Has anybody any experience???

Contact Austen on this site. His company is known to provide a good product with good service. Be very wary of buying from Ebay. There are known fraudsters out there.

The particular firm mentioned does have a huge feedback though. Also I believe they sell many other Freebie spares not just VCU's.

I've had stuff off freelander-spares-uk berfore now and have spoken to them on the phone.
The stuff i've had has been ok and always turned within a couple of days and they're cheaper than my local landranger shop even when including postage charges.

I bought a filter set from them for a TD4 turned up 2 days later no problems. However I did go to Austen for a new VCU and the difference is very noticeable no tightness when tight steering etc and all in fitted, tested new bearings less than a lot of other sites just selling VCUs for.
