Just wondering if I'm the only one that has counted the number of hours for my rebuild as I've just hit the 700 hours mark, and that doesn't include the hours tinkering achieving nothing.

How many hours have all you rebuilders spent on your trucks?

I started counting mine when I first started. Then forgot for a while so just stopped.
Would have been interesting to see what hours I had in it.
But I doubt it's as high as 700.

Don't know about hours but when me,bro, and son did my series 11a swb re-build it only took use 6 x weekends that inc breaking 3 x series landy's and re-building a bulkhead aswell as one was a doner car for the body, one ( my old one ) was a doner car for the new recon'd engine plus some other bit's and the other was the car we was doing the ground up re-build on but had the best bulkhead on but still needed virtually re-building as it was rotten :)

I'd hate to think how many hours I had on my nut and bolt rebuild. Many a night in the shed till three am messing about with it.
It's the shot blasting cleaning and painting every thing

not counted hours.... but I did itemise the full spend.

Shocking how it all adds up - even without doing anything particularly expensive... its all the poxy seals, fixings, paint strainers and all that other little stuff that you'd rather forget. At least doing it over 5 years it was spread out!

I am quite looking forward to doing my galv chassis swap next year once i have overhauled the axles and fitted a + 2" lift kit first :)

+1 Cost I did keep track of and you're right it soon mounts up
I've not redone the figures since I've changed the engine but I recon that'll be another £1500 on top

Not a clue of the money or time spent on mine as it was done long before i bought it, but it is fitted with an hours meter and is currently at 457 hours so seems to have had little use since then.

I reckon 50 hours for the rebuild so far and that is body off, new chassis painted and rear axle off. Better get cracking as I want it back by October.

Running cost is £3071.44
