rite my jates fit like B not like A,

i'e the nut doesnt screw far enough onto the bolt to fix the jate tight around the chassis. instead it is loose on the bolt, with movement. is this fooked up?

Got a 10m 20 ton rated strop for recovery

Also got a 18m kinetic recovery rope. Long as you check all the recovery points and you know how to use them and make sure people stand back then they definately have their uses.

I always use a bridal rope where possible

other advantage of a tow bar is when some muppet runs into the back of you

Jate rings are good but if u bury it up to the floor in mud or water its a pain to get at unless you have already attached a rope

I cant see any reason why picture B should be a problem although i know military landies all fit snug. How about packing the gap with a few washers if you are worried ?

Jate rings Shouldn't be tight to the chassis they should have minimal sideways slop or movement but they should be free to swing. We have always nipped them so they do not rattle but you can move them with your hand/foot.

Get a shorter bolt if the nut won't nip up onto the Jate Ring. The end of the threaded section should be just visible on the inside of the jate ring. When it's tightened up.

make sure the bolts you replace them with are rated 8.8 or better Jai
