Hi all. I have bought a genuine Land Rover lock set (ignition, keys and 3 barrels). I’ve taken the rear door lock off my 2005 TD5 and cannot find the hole through which I am supposed to depress a brass plunger. I have sanded it down to bare metal to see if it was covered but nothing!

Put the key in the barrel, look for the small hole in the lock 'sleeve', push a pin into the hole to depress the brass button that you can't see ...

Thanks, but as mentioned in my original post, there is no hole. I had already watched the video and referred to the Haynes manual re inserting the key and depressing the brass pin. I cannot understand why there is no hole, even after sanding the sleeve down to bare steel, in search of the hole (as shown in my pic)

In your pic how close to the base did you go ? At about 11:eek:'clock there is a lump of crud, pick at that it may be there ...

Is there anything underneath ?

Nope, honestly, I’ve sanded the cylinder all the way down to the lock casing! I’ve looked at it so closed all the way around. I just don’t get it?! I’ve changed the front door barrel and found the brass pin without a problem. I’ll take off again and may have to take a different direction….. thanks for your help.
