Morning chaps just a quick question to pick your brains. Is it normal for the rear fuel pump to constantly make a loud droning noise or should it be silent ? mine is loud and i have to turn the radio up to block it out.
No it shouldn't be audible inside the car when the engine is running. Cheap replacement pumps are often noisier than genuine pumps. Mine has a genuine pump, which is pretty silent. It's about as loud as the blower fan on speed 1.

I got a Bosch one from Eurocarparts when they had a 30% off day. (happens most weekends), but change the filter at the same time.
When you go to fit it work from the wheel arch, don't follow the how to by the Youtube cowboys Bodgit and Scarper. Take out the front two plastic rivets, bend the wheel arch inner liner back and hold it with a bungie cord or similar.
And be prepared for a lot of swearing when replacing the filter.
