Hi All

Am selling my 2004 Landrover Freelander 1.8 Petrol but require a new rear diff.

The current one is shot and rumbles like thunder when turning corners.

Any ideas on best place to get replacement, new or second hand

Cheers

Most people on here tend to use Bell engineering. I don't know the contact but a Google search should bring it up.

I've got a spare one, comes with a free IRD, prop + VCU, 4 wheels, leather seats, etc :)

Trouble is you'd have to tow it, unless you fancy reversing it all the way to Yorkshire

Thanks for replies guys
Unfortunately I forgot to update my location. Im in Ireland

Would be one hell of a trip in reverse from Lake Somerset Bukko....:car:

Managed to source a 2nd hand one just about an hr ago for €100.

Does that seem a decent price? Anything to look out for?

what a pity we were coming to Ireland but have had to cancel due to another operation as I have a spare diff with low mileage, but I know there is a breakers in n/Ireland who has freelander in but you will have to do a search.

Got a good 2nd hand rear diff and had it fitted. It made no difference at all. Rumbling still there.

Upon further inspection it now looks like the culprits are the prop shaft mounts. There is a lot of play. Could this result in the prop shaft rubbing and causing this noise? Have ordered replacements as they dont look in the best of nickk
