Bit of advice from anyone who may know better than me!!! Not hard!
On about my four or fifth front centre diff bush, looks like I need to replace it again.....
Thinking about polybush kit from flo-flex!
Do people think that the side bushes become worn too, and if replacing the front with a polybush is it worth doing all three?

Any advice, constructive, that is, is welcome! Already got petrol and matches, not inclined to use them at present!!!!

Hi

If you check the side bushes you will know if they need replacing or not, though it is the front bush that takes the bulk of the hammer

i changed my front bush with a poly one and it seems to be standing up well and i have on minis in the past ie engine mountings etc and these have proved to last well

I tend to source the bushes on e-bay at a fraction of the cost of some places

Just go for it!!!

That seems like an awful lot of failures, CJK.

Could this be a symptom of problem elsewhere? I wonder if your rear diff is out of alighnment and that is causing the repetitive wear?

Surely going to a polyurethane bush will just shove the wear onto something else?

I am assuming the centre bush needs replacing again!
On reversing on full lock the rear of the car definitely "skips", so something is not right!
Tried the "tippex test" on the vcu and there is differential movement between the prop shafts so the vcu is slipping.
As the rear wheel is turned you can see significant movement of the front of the rear diff, hence the assumption that the bush needs changing again!
Is there a procedure to check rear diff alignment?

Chris.
