Hi,

I watched a couple to vids on how to replace the rear oil seal but I need to fit the seal to the fly wheel housing first. What’s tool can you use to drive to the seal into the housing other then the very expensive Land Rover tools? I have just measured the seal and it’s 115mm wide.

The last time I did mine it was very reluctant to go in, 30 min's in the freezer sorted it.

Loctite the outside, as I had one come loose in the flywheel housing, was a genuine one as well.
Iirc the new seal must be fitted dry on the seal lip, and the seal comes with the plastic tool to guide it over the crankshaft, I have no idea what I drove the seal itself in with, but it wont have been high tech thats for sure!

Thanks for the heads up, will use Loctite 270 around the outside of the seal to the flywheel housing and keep the inside face to the crankshaft dry.
