Hello chaps

Quick question with regards to my disco 1 rear bumper, Am i allowed to drive without the rear bumper as i want to take it of to do some welding on it and bring it up to good standard again....

also is it easy enough to remove the rear bumber??

help would be awesome thanks

there is a nut behind the lights in the bumper can be a right bastid to get the lights out and get a spanner on the nut just remember when you disconnect the bottom lights the indicators will flash twice as fast

Thanks Robint, is it road legal to drive without rear bumber though, is it worth restoring bumber or easier to buy new one

It is not needed for the mot but may be an issue if stopped by the rozzers. FYI I have run mine without a front bumper for the last 6 weeks. Been passed by lots of coppers and even followed some through town. Never been stopped.

Law says NO sharp edges or protusions to front or rear of vehicle So as long as there int any. yu don't need a bumper. Not sure the front chassis legs would pass on this though. So would be illegal and a MOT Failure.

Sharp protruding edges should be covered I would think . Comes under construction and use regs which is a police matter....I think
