It was changed because it was just badly corroded but passed test last year with the new drum onWhy was the drum replaced ? and who replaced it ?
Maybe the underlying cause was never rectified ...
I don't think its a good idea to have MOTs done at the same that fixes the car, in fact I don't think its a good idea to have MOTs done at garages that can fix the work - always best to have the test done at a place that just does tests. It was changed because it was just badly corroded but passed test last year with the new drum on
I'm going to change it today and just take it for retest and bite the bullet
I've put a new cylinder on it also cleaned all the surface were shoes sit
I can't find anything else causing the problem
No warning lights are on so I don't know if they are trying it on for extra cash

I agree but it won't be happening againI don't think its a good idea to have MOTs done at the same that fixes the car, in fact I don't think its a good idea to have MOTs done at garages that can fix the work - always best to have the test done at a place that just does tests.
That can be easier said than done, depending on whats available to you locally.
However, that said, there probably is something wrong with the brake - it just leaves that doubt in your mind if the garage will also quote to fix it.
The only warning light associated with the back brakes is the ABS sensor - nothing else would throw a light on the dash. So the brake could be totally useless/broken and you wouldn't have any warning lights.
