Guys got a Td5 auto and the front prop fell apart today,, luckily literally as I pulled on the drive, got underneath and pulled the prop off and thought if I pushed the front small lever forwards I would get some sort of drive to the rear wheels but this wasn't the case.
Is there some sort of center diff that woukd stop the drive.
Im only asking out of curiosity?

I'm gonna get a new /refurbished complete prop but they all seem to be for manuals.
Does the auto and manual have the same prop

Many thanks neil

Does your car have difflock?
moving lever forward only engages low range.
Moving it( if it can and does have it fitted ) to the left while in LOW OR HI range will engage diff lock.

Cheers

Of course if you were lucky and had a lay underneath it, you might find it has the internals in the tbox and you could try engagin the diff lock using a spanner.

Then you could drive it. If you really needed to. But some will say that you need to keep the speed low and not to far.

Cheers

I don't need to drive it, as I can use the missus range rover
But I will investigate further when I'm laying underneath it

Yep manual prop will fit an auto I've been running one for years due to manual being alot cheaper get a grease able replacement

Those descriptions on some sites that the TVB000110 is only for manual is wrong IMO, it's the same for all except for the 4.6 V8 which is TVB000320... period ... if the TVB000110 was only for manual which part number is for auto?
