alright all new to the 4x4 scene just need some quick advice as i just been offerd a swap for my classic range rover v8 auto for a disco 300tdi auto are disco's any good as its the fuel cost in the v8 thats pushing me away lol thanks all

keep the rangie.bite the fuel bill.the disco will probably cost you in the long run more.

how do you figure that?

the rr and disco share a lot and both rot in similar places too, the 300tdi is a pretty reliable engine if looked after and wont cost as much to run as the v8.

Saying that if it was me I wouldnt swap a rrc for a disco but then if its the running costs it could be a fair deal depending on condition etc.

depends what you want to use the car for. my disco doubles as a van and a seven seater.... if i had to replace it i wouldnt even look at rangies.... or v8 discos comes to that.

Overall the 300 series disco is better than my old RRC it dosen't tick all the boxes but neither did my RRC.
RRCs are just for the classic car brigade as they are so old now. :)

if it comes down to cost, the cost of fueling a tdi will more than pay for any repairs when compered to a V8, dont make that sound though

Fuel cost don't come into it if compared correctly, both vehicles would have the same engine 300 Tdi or V8, so what ever engine "rangerover vs disco" I think the disco has the edge, just :)
