I have got a 2004 Range Rover with 20 inch wheels (255 x 50 x 20).

Most of my driving is on the road but I do regularly drive across fields and along muddy tracks, nothing to extreme, I need to replace 2 tyres and would like to get some all terrain tyres. I cant find anything in this size, I have been recommended Cooper Zeon 275 x 50 x 20 which would mean changing all 4 tyres

Will a wider tyre affect the on road handling, has anyone any sugestions about a suitable tyre.

Hi

Not sure about the 20" rims, but I have 275 tyres and have no problems with handling. Car does seem to be a bit slippery on mud. Seems like it is to wide to really cut through the slimy stuff to the harder stuff underneath.

I've always been a fan of sinking money into the tires and not sinking money into the rest of the car.

I've got Nokian Hakkapeliitta on my 94 county LWB. Good tire/tyre to handle the weight of the car without having to replace them every 20,000 miles. They're a bit pricier; but will last a long time and can handle snow, mud, rain, asphalt, roadkill, and whatever you can throw at them.

Just my thoughts!

The Rims are your issue here - 20" are great for cruising around town but what you need in mud is a high profile, that is why I have kept the 16" rims on mine - I just need some advice on the best tyre for field/road use.
