I am looking at buying a second hand tow bar frame for a L322, I would have it shot blasted and zinc coated and sprayed up.
The question is are they all the same and if not what’s the difference?
I would like to fit one on a 2012 TDV8 Westminster so is there anything different with it’s fittings to all the other L322 models produced.
I am not worried about electrics as I will have new ones fitted.

Many thanks

2009, that’s fair enough I don’t suppose you know what 6he change was?
No I don't I'm afraid, and I may well be incorrect..but something to that effect seems to be logged in my mind.
Like you I wonder if and why, and all I can guess at would be a ride height change and/or bumper design change, sorry, that's all I've got.

As an aside, the electrics would also be different, but that at least is understandable.

Maybe somebody here can help with part numbers of the differing years, and maybe even images?

Thank you for coming back, you have some valid points. I did wonder if that’s the time a TDV8 was first introduced and if the exhaust system was different at the back as you have to swap some fixings over when you fit the frame.
Nothing is ever easy especially with Land Rover

Nah. Mines a TDV8 2011 model and came factory fitted. Might have been an extra I suppose but I doubt it as when I fitted the tow hook itself it had clearly never been out if its original packing.

my suggestion is only fit a genuine LR removable tow bar AND electric.
The electrics are easy plug and play once you have told the car they exist.
the bay of e is your friend here.
Please don't skimp on your electrics....you hurt your RR electrics and you will chase your a...s for every.
best wishes.

Thank you both.
Yes I will fit a new genuine electric harness as I agree it’s not worth skimping on. These are amazing cars but they only need an excuse to get indigestion so to speak.

Further to my above post, #6, my towbar has been playing on my mind, and thoughts of 'do I just need the detachable bit, and if so what is the bit I need?'.
So I took a sneaky pic under her dress, at the rear. The question is , do I just need the square bar with the ball? Is it that simple? It can't be , she's an L332!
Help appreciated folks :D

Oh, nearly forgot. If it's not the part in the second photo I need, which part do I need. Thanks

Yes @gold rover you just need the bit in second pic but need to gooooogle Westfaila tow bar Range Rover L322 to find right part, I dont think you can interchange different makes hope that helps.

@kds Thanks. I'm not sure if the one in pic is Westfalia, but is advertised for early L322. So will do a bit of digging. Much appreciated :D

You might have to get your file out (no not your nail file, a real one) in that square bit by the look of it to get it to fit and there should be a hole in the side of it for the securing pin.

I've ordered the one seen above, as apparently compatible with Westfalia. Nail file and nail varnish awaiting it's arrival :p :D
