Hi new to the site so be gentle, have a 1997 range rover p38 4.6 v8 with a gems engine rig. recently has developed a bit of a backfire and gets all funny when reving past the 2000 rpms, any help.
Got the range rover in July has been with the family since first reg as was my father who upgraded to the new model and the younger brothers took it on and made a complete mess of the beast, yes it does have a lpg kit fitted but i belive it is a single point sysytem which is no use on this version so I have not used it at all and have had the tank completely emptied and is fitted but not used, as for service I completed a full service in July that includes all the filters, plugs ht leads and fluids, as for the backfire it seems fine doing 30mph but if I put my foot down it stutters at about 2000 rpms but if I accelerate at a normal speed it seems ok. no engine lights and no error codes.
