You will be locked out after three fails. Only try twice then open and close door then you get three more tries. Keep doing this after two fails and you will never get lockout.

Ok thanks for the tip. But the backdoors wont't open? Really don't know why, neither from inside or outside.

Hi again!

Spoke with the previous owner, he mentioned also that the BECM is original. Same original EKA.

Don't understand why it doesn't work..

Hmmmm....

I know the BeCM to engine ECU code can get corrupted...maybe the EKA code is corrupted too....time to plug it into diagnostics I think!

Back doors won't open because they are superlocked. Are you being careful entering the code. Four times to left returning to upright position, then the first digit of the code (if that is 6) six times to right returning each time to upright position. Then next digit to left returning each time to upright. Next digit to right and so on. Do it carefully and slowly. When you have completed sequence doors should unlock. And engine should start.

That's because the BECM forgets the ECM embedded code. EKA code is embedded in BECM. Can be read by diagnostics IF BECM is unlocked but not if it is locked. Unless you have MSV2 and special module to unlock it.

So need someone to diagnose it. The left front window doesn't go up or down, something wrong with the mechanism? The central locking doesn't work (is it because the engine is locked?) and the bonnet isn't on place but I have fixed the wires so it doesn't warn me that the bonnet is open.

Talked to a LR mechanic about it and he said it could be because of the door lock mechanism? That it's something wrong with it? But then I thought that the car is obviously recognizing an EKA input, hence the lockout, so I don't know...

The engine is locked because the central locking is not working (EKA needed). If you find someone with a Nanocom they can feed in the EKA code for you. If the lock is duff you may not be able to enter EKA but diagnostics can.

Aha, so the engine is locked because of the central locking and not vice-versa. So if I could somehow get the central locking to work then the EKA input would work? But the backdoors is superlocked any issues with that?

If key fob is out of sync it will not work central locking, it cannot be re synced if car is in an alarmed state. Which it is. Get EKA to work or entered via diagnostics then you can re sync fob to car to regain central locking.

Talked again to the mechanic for the car, he said that the central locking didn't work on the car previously either.

This is what I'm doing when entering EKA code on the car:
first making sure every door is locked
right -> up x4 (lock)
left -> up x
right -> up x
left -> up x
right -> up x
left -> unlock

Seems that you have the follow the Land Rover manual and not go for the lock - unlock sequence but the clockwise sequence.

Thinking if the microswitch is ok, but it would be because I got locked out..

Status update:
NO WHERE SO FAR!!!

Have tried every method nothing works....
Just keep getting lockouts, have now decided to give the car to a dealer.
Is there any good diagnostics software you recommend? I heard some LR Mechanic speaking of something called the P4, it's able to write in the EKA code through computer?

The official Land over diagnostics is called the T4 (Testbook T4 to give its full name)

For the home user , there is a few choices....

Bearmach Hawkeye
Blackbox Solutions Nanocom Evolution (the best choice for the average home user)
Blackbox Faultmate Extreme MSV2 (the fecking dogs danglies...but very expensive)
The Autologic (again very expensive)

By far the most common and best choice is the Nanocom!

Saw on youtube that the nanocom had a option to enter EKA code?
Is it safe to buy from Blackbox now? What would I need the cable and the box only right?

Regards

if only BlackBox wasn't closed for easter holidays...:doh:
I'm puling hairs right now. Won't open until 8th and then wait for them to process all the pending orders and then shipping time.:mil36:
By the end of the month I should have be able to diagnose my p38. :mad:

Ok, thinking of buying the blackbox.

Have just one question.

My left front window (my drivers) doesn't go up or down, but it is set.
I also remembered that if you do the EKA code from the drivers door and then open the drivers door after 2 faults you wont get locked out, but I've done that and I get the lockout again and again. What could this be due to?

Regards
