Hello everyone, does anyone live near Malvern Worcestershire? I wanted to know if anyone could help me replace upper and lower ball joints driver side, can’t find a garage locally.

Not a difficult DIY job, just need to buy the tool to press them out and back in, not expensive.
Thank you Datatek, could you please confirm which tool? I have seen two types one is like a G clamp the other a two pillar press

The tool is like a big G clamp. Be careful as there are many different ones and the tubes to accommodate the swivels as they are pressed out vary a lot. I bought the wrong kit but as I have a lathe I was able to make the parts I needed, the clamp was OK.

I will buy one of the kits with the G clamp style, I have a range of sockets I could perhaps use if the tubes are not correct?
Thank you for all the advice I will tackle this job a week Saturday, do I need any heat to help?

I don't know how to link to my thread but if you click on my user name and search my threads you should find it easy enough.

Sockets are not deep enough as receivers but are OK a pushers.

Definitely get one of the kits with lots of adapters. I bought the minimal kit, and had to used various sockets for the job.

This is similar to mine - minimal adapters

This kit is more extensive, but no guarantees it will have the right adapter.

Thank you to everyone who has responded, I will get the press tool and follow the write up and let you all know who I get on,

If you don't mind driving to Telford you can borrow mine (the 21 piece one).
£100 deposit incase you don't return it. Returned in full if you haven't broke anything. £200 deposit and you can borrow the socket, breaker bar, hub puller and torque wrench to get the hub off as well as the press tool.

Sorry, no. Horrible job I found. No room in my garage anyway now.
Secure yourself alternative transport for work etc incase you have the problems I had. Also got a spare disc brake that's useful for hub removal you can borrow too.

That is a very kind offer, don’t suppose you would do the job for cash? If I drove to you?
Make sure you have a source of heat to warm the yoke up to make the joints removal easier and put the new ones in the freezer overnight to aid replacement.
