not very experienced in these matters but can anyone shed light on where the p 38,L322 names were derived or came into being?
Yep I'm a boring history type and actually enjoy watching,victorian farm,war time farm,programmess etc

the farming progs are only loosely based on reality or maybe its the presenters that are only loosely based in reality

I think they named the p38a after the building number in wich they were assembled, not sure about the other though. Paul.
 
It was whilst in design called the pegasus project hence the P
And the prototype came out of building number 38
And
The L on new models stands for landrover
the numbers on new models are just the project number
Or so I believe
