Hiya

great u got new lines in

hope u don’t mind me saying but when bleeding brakes should always start off with the furthest one away from the master cyl first, so if it’s on the drivers side u would start near side rear, offside rear, then front near side , then front offside

ref the ABS module indeed if u allow any air to enter it diagnostics are normally required to bleed it out

Think many of us use a pressure bleeder , this is the set up I’ve got so can bleed the brakes yourself, syringe to remove any old brake fluid from the master cyl, then the spanners that has a NRV inside so prevents air from being pulled back into the system

plus was the brake fluid u got brand new from an unopened container and does it match the specs as per JLR requirements plse , did u use something similar plse , , thks

hope that helps

Hi the way you describe bleeding is what I normally do. But read from an online manual for range rover to do it the way I did. So bit confused. Looking at that sealey blender kit online. Does the cap that comes with it fit or will I need another size. And if it does need abs diagnostic bleed do you know what tool I can get that will do it. Thank you.

hiya

must confess haven’t heard of that before but indeed if that's what it said u would follow it as per instructions , I would do the same , assume there’s a good reason for it

heres A pic for u of the cap , fits very well and good quality , is a European cap , yours being a 2005 I’m pretty sure its obd2 compliant , but need to double check beforehand , I’m wondering if the Autel ap200 would work or need something better

the other guys will be able to advise u better ,

hope that helps

Ok thank you. I'll look at the autel ap200.

Ok thank you for the reply and help I know its dragging on. I've used the sealey pressure bleeder today I've gone with the old order of bleeding starting at rear passenger pressurised to 10psi. Attached no leaks ,cracked off rear bleed niple no flow! Pressed peddle fluid out but only when brake pressed did all 4 peddle solid start car pedle goes spongey and can press right down. Question should it just flow out when bleed niple open? Am I going to have to call it a day and get it plugged in and a garage do it. Really dont want to give up on it but am I wasting time and fluid for it never to get right.

I pump my Sealey to between 18 and 22 psi and it works fine.

Ok just done again up to 20psi. When you open bleed nipple no fluid comes out. So just done it the old way press- open - tighten - release. Fluid comes out no air. Took for drive it brakes. ABS kicks in. But still think pedal is spongy. When under pressure would the fluid come out straight away or does it take time.

Normally fluid should flow, sometimes slower for the rear brakes but still should flow. Diagnostic tools can be used during a bleeding sequence to get the abs pump to force fluid the the system.
